Ich habe die meiste Zeit meines Lebens in Berlin gelebt. Berlin hat sehr viele Sehenswürdigkeiten:

Es lohnt sich, sie zu besuchen. Wir können auch „würdig“ sagen: Die Gebäude und Denkmäler sind würdig, gesehen zu werden. Sie sind sehenswürdig. Es sind Sehenswürdigkeiten.
I like this word because it is typical of the German language; it says exactly what it’s all about: It’s about buildings, monuments and parks that are worth seeing. It is worth visiting them. We can also say “worthy”: the buildings and monuments are worthy to be seen. They are worthy to see. They are sights.
