Ich liebe dieses Sprichwort, es ist sehr metaphorisch. Ich muss dabei an den Zinnmann aus der Geschichte Der Zauberer von Oz denken. Er rostet schnell!I love this idiom, it’s very metaphorical. I always have to think of the Tin Man from the story The Wizard of Oz. He rusts quickly!

Was bedeutet „rosten“? Nun, Metall rostet, wenn es Wasser ausgesetzt wird (wenn es mit Wasser in Berührung kommt).What does “to rust” mean? Well, metal rusts, when it is exposed to water (if it comes in contact with water).

Und was bedeutet „rasten“? Nun, wenn man rastet, dann macht man eine Pause, man ruht sich aus. Wenn man einen Ausflug macht, zum Beispiel mit dem Fahrrad, dann legt man ab und zu eine Rast ein.And what does “to rest” mean? Well, if you rest, then you take a break, you rest.
